Boh vás žehnaj (God Bless You) Father George Hosko. The Doherty Library’s Inter-library Loan (ILL) Librarian, is retiring after 19 years of service at The University of Saint Thomas – Houston. Fr. Hosko studied Theology at the University of St. Michael’s in Toronto, Canada and studied Library Science as Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was ordained as a Basilian Father in Detroit, Michigan during 1968. Shortly after ordination, Fr. Hosko began his career as a librarian, holding library positions in Windsor Ontario, followed by Detroit, Albuquerque, and Phoenix before coming to Houston to work at St. Thomas High School. He then joined the University of St. Thomas (UST) in 1997 as the Head of Inter-library Loan Department. In addition to being a librarian, he is an avid swimmer and celebrates Mass with the UST community at the Basilian Chapel. “You will be missed at the Doherty Library Fr. Hosko,” is understatement of the year from us; we wish you well and thank you for your years of service.
